BEGINNINGS

INTRODUCTION
The story of Peace Child begins in London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 30th 1981. This is not where normal people would premiere a new Youth Musical, but nothing about the Peace Child Story is normal.  Two extraordinary works: David Gordon’s Cathedral Oratorio, Alpha Omega 1, Alpha Omega 2 and  Bernard Benson’s The Peace Book, were combined by the four other Founders to create the seed of Children’s Musical, from which grew a mighty tree with hundreds of branches, sprouting thousands of leaves around the world in theatre and choral performances, books, films, conferences and videos that touched the hearts of millions.
Though we are grateful to those six extraordinary Founders , a greater debt of gratitude is owed to all the children, young people, directors, choreographers and musicians who co-wrote, translated and performed the different Peace Child shows and wrote and illustrated our books. They are the real owners of Peace Child!
But hold that image of our Beginnings in the Royal Albert Hall, London. For that mighty edifice is symbolic of both the series of miracles that allowed Peace Child to be born at all, and the colossal aspiration we had for it from the very start.  Peace Child would change the world.  And it did!
