Message/Reflection
Besides to learn in a deep way the UN’s Agenda 21, being with Peace Child was a great human experience for me. In a way, it changed my life. I’m not exaggerating. I came from a very closed world, from a country (Chile) that had just left a military dictatorship two years before. I had never had contact with people from countries as far away as Sierra Leone, Croatia or Sri Lanka. It was really a great experience for me. An emotional job for the world and made for the world. I was a young designer when I entered the project. I have always been interested in politics, development, overcoming inequalities, defending the environment. The great experience was meeting people from other countries who thought in very similar ways. And above all I realised that all human beings are basically the same. It does not matter if you were born in Africa, Asia or Latin America. We are equal. It did not change but rather re-affirmed an idea I’d had since a child: that the world should not have borders and that it should be governed by the love and not by money. Keep working, Peace Child!
